Border is open from  6:00 A.M. to Midnight.  The Mexican consulate states that Rocky Point is considered a "Free Zone".  No visa, passport or automobile title is required to enter. It is the law to have Mexican auto insurance though.

Money
Money converter (dollars to pesos)  Good Place to click if your going to exchange your dollars for pesos.
It isn't really necessary to exchange your money in Rocky Point (everybody accepts dollars)  We do suggest that you use lots of $1's and $5's to shop at the small vendors (it looks like a lot of money when you hold it and it's easier to make change for.)  We also suggest to, when you can, use your Credit Card (Visa or MasterCard only in Rocky Point).  When using your Credit Card your bank will give you the absolute best exchange rate possible.

Weather:  Daily average high/low:  Dec-Feb: 72/42.  Mar-May:  82/63.  Jun-Aug:  95/71.  Sep-Nov:  86/64.

We posted a bunch of different Weather sites to help demonstrate Inconsistency.   Which is something so very common in Mexico and obviously the U.S. is familiar with this term as well (you'll see if you check out the sites).  The bottom line is that Rocky Point is on the ocean so the temperature is regulated more (less extreme hot or cold), and it gets about 2 inches of rain per year.

To keep our butt from getting in trouble we must say that the following  comments are strictly opinion and do not in any way represent Fiesta Beach Travel or its' opinions.

When crossing the border, chances are you will be stopped to be searched, don't worry they are just looking for people smuggling in American Products for sale, Drugs & for plants.  Once you cross the border, look for 2 crucial turns in the town of Sonoyta, again don't worry just follow the signs that point to Pto. Peñasco.  You are now about 60 miles away.
If you break down on the freeway in Mexico, and a bright forest green utility truck stops to see what is going on, that's good news, they are from the government and their job is to help all motorists in distress.  Remember not to drink the water out of the tap, (the same goes for brushing your teeth).  If you do get sick, there is medication over the counter in Mexico.  (Make sure you consult your doctor on that one).
In Mexico, like in many parts of the world "Out of sight, out of mind"
Remember you're in Mexico and on vacation, so take off your watch, forget about the time (the locals have) and have a good time!

Spring Break 2008

This year Spring Break will consume Rocky Point Mexico,

starting on March 10, 2006 and last until the end of March.

This year  will be an especially busy with ASU, U of A, NAU, & 3 other Major Universities letting out from New Mexico, Utah, & Colorado.

Plan ahead or be left out.

SPRING BREAKERS & PARTY ANIMALS BEWARE:

Drinking and driving is a very serious crime in Mexico.

Sobriety is usually determined by your behavior, breath, and how well you can stand on one foot, making your body look like the number 4 "Has un cuatro" (make a four).

If you are accused of Drunk Driving you are just as well convicted there on the spot, your fine will be paid right there or can be decided by the Police Chief.

Remember you're in Mexico so be respectful of others, yourself, and use common sense.

You are on vacation, so call a cab if you need (get the price before you get in) , you might as well take off your watch & forget about the time (the locals have) and enjoy yourself!
